Shepherding Bees: providing a haven for our fuzzy friends!
(shep·herd [shep-erd] - a person who protects, guides, watches, tends...)
As I have learned about bees the past several months, and shared with anyone who would listen, I discovered that almost everyone I talked to wanted to know more about beekeeping and eventually
expressed to me the desire to have a hive in their own yard.
It has become one of my goals to try to meet that desire for others. After much consideration, I am offering the opportunity to anyone who wishes, to sponsor or help sponsor the placement of a hive around Iredell County.
More soon, but if you are interested in hosting a hive or donating to host a hive, or both, please use the contact page to let me know!

Movie Screening: Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?
I am in the process of finding a location that will help sponsor a community viewing of this important film. The trailer can be viewed here.
Documentary Film: What's the Buzz About Bees?
What's the Buzz about Bees? is a tentative working title for a short documentary that I intend to film over the next several months. The work on this documentary, including learning about the equipment used for filming and editing, will be part of my senior study.
What's the Buzz about Bees? is intended for younger audiences, with the sincere hope of instilling the importance of the honeybee to our agriculture, and further awakening a desire to learn more experientially, by keeping bees.
Update: Sadly my proposal to the IRB (Institutional Review Board) was not approved, and I will not be able to complete this project for my senior study.

Children's Book: Bees
This is just a working title for the moment. I am now focusing my attentions on writing a nonfiction book about bees for children.
